Free Health Screening

Hello Parents,

The RAM clinic will be located at Chua Viên Thông Tự Buddhist Temple located at 17355 Groeschke Road, Houston, Texas 77084. Patient parking will be located at Cullen Park, 18203 Groeschke Road and will open at 3 a.m. on Saturday, December 9. Patients will be treated in chronological order based upon their arrival and clinic doors open at 6 a.m. The same process will repeat on Sunday, December 10.  Services available at the Houston clinic will include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental x-rays, eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, free eyeglasses, women’s health care, general medical exams, and flu vaccinations.

“There are tens of thousands of people in Houston who lack access to affordable care,” said RAM Founder & President Stan Brock. “No matter how much we talk about improving our healthcare system, unless we add vision and dental coverage, people will continue to be in pain and suffering just because they don’t have access to a doctor or can’t afford one.”

U.S. census data for Houston, Texas’ largest city by population, shows that 29.0% of its residents lack health insurance coverage.  The city’s poverty rate is 22.5% which far exceeds the national average of 14.3%. Due to these factors, RAM and its corps of volunteers expect to treat over 800 people during the two-day clinic.
